MCS is delighted to report that the Piazza Fountain is undergoing a temporary makeover with the intention to get it operational again by the Spring.
Friends of the Piazza Fountain have undertaken essential repairs to the spalling reinforced concrete walls of the fountain in preparation for a repaint in a few weeks’ time. Whilst our long-term aim remains the full restoration of the fountain to the original design by Richard Huws, the imminent completion of the cladding work on Beetham Plaza, has prompted more immediate action to clean up and refresh this beloved Liverpool landmark.
We will also be installing an Information Board to tell people more about the fountain.
We are calling for donations for the full restoration and also this temporary refresh which is being undertaken by volunteers from the Friends of the Fountain.
